About Us

Lori Whitley: Current Owner

Lori purchased Steinburg from Ann McMillan in September 2010. I am interested in Steinburg for his phenomenal pedigree and the rare combination of bloodlines it brings to the Trakehners of North America.  I am standing him as a breeding stallion.

Ann McMillan: Importer/ Previous Owner

Ann purchased Steinburg from Hartmut Rönnau in the spring of 2005. She was interested in Steinburg primarily as a competitive FEI schoolmaster, but also intended to make his rare and valuable bloodlines available to breeders in North America. Herr Rönnau purchased Steinburg as a three-year old. He trained and competed Steingburg in Europe up to I1. Herr Rönnau currently resides in Holstein. A well-respected trainer and owner of multiple approved Holsteiner stallions, Herr Rönnau is committed to the preservation of proven bloodlines that contribute to the quality and substance of today's modern sporthorse.

Gerhard Ablinger, Reitlehrer FN : Former Trainer

A good friend and former colleague of Herr Rönnau, Gerhard is a certified Reitlehrer, FN. He and Herr Rönnau apprenticed together with the highly-regarded Günther Festerling outside of Munich, Germany. Herr Festerling is one of the select few Reitmeisters in Germany and continues a life-long effort to preserve classical methods in the training and development of sport horses. Gerhard also holds his USDF gold medal.
Mr. Ablinger, a native of Austria, came to this country as the Head Trainer for the traveling Lipizzan Stallions. While touring with the company, Gerhard met his wife Kari Remington. He and Kari married and today, with their two children Lexi and Eric, currently reside in Stillwater, Minnesota. There, Gerhard and Kari operate a successful dressage training facility and continue to promote the ideals of classical dressage.
